The grass is freshly cut, the flowers are in full bloom and the sun is beating down on us. That means it’s golf season in Brantford!

Brantford is home to three unique golf courses (2 public and 1 private) and one indoor golf simulator. Given that Brantford is a city of modest size, it’s pretty impressive that we can boast 3 golf courses in addition to a fancy new simulator that is used by pros on the PGA Tour. In this blog, we’ll explore each of the courses and give you the necessary FORE-1-1.

Northridge Municipal Golf Couse & Learning Centre

320 Balmoral Drive, Brantford

The Northridge Municipal Golf Course offers a mature 18-hole championship layout featuring large greens, contoured fairways, white bunker sand, full pro shop, and clubhouse services including a refreshment cart on the course (weather permitting). This course is conveniently located at the north end of Brantford, Ontario and tee times can be booked up to seven days in advance. Memberships are available, as is single round fees in addition to lots of options at the driving range as well. Play a round (Monday to Friday) for $40 or $42 (Saturday, Sunday and Holidays). If you play after 2:00 p.m. daily, your round will cost you just $30.

Brantford Golf & Country Club

60 Ava Road, Brantford

This private, exclusive club was established in 1879 making it the 4th oldest golf club in North America. It ranks 22nd on a list of Top Canadian Classic Courses by GolfWeek, 79th on the list of Top 100 Courses in Canada by SCOREGolf, and is home to PGA and LPGA Tour players including David Hearn, Alena Sharp, Jennifer Kirby, and Nicole Vandermade. The course has hosted several major tournaments, including the 1970 Canadian PGA Championship and the 1979 Canadian Amateur Championship. The picturesque course is situated along the Grand River, offering breathtaking views of both the river and Brant Park from the Clubhouse. In a recent interview with Tourism Brantford, PGA Tour Pro David Hearn recalls joining the club at the age of fourteen and said, “The BGCC was great because they allowed unattached junior members to play and it really helped me improve as a player. There have been a lot of great golfers develop at BGCC and it is not a coincidence. The quality of the BGCC course brings out the best in players.”

Arrowdale Municipal Golf Course & Learning Centre      

282 Stanley Street, Brantford

With nine picturesque holes of challenging golf, right in the centre of the City, Arrowdale Municipal Golf Course is the perfect place to test out your swing. Their air-conditioned, cozy chalet-style hall overlooking the golf course is fully licensed and perfect for parties, meetings and seminars. The Clubhouse offers a variety of delicious menu items to choose from with competitive pricing. Arrowdale offers just the right atmosphere for that fun and friendly weekend afternoon, or a 9-hole tournament for friends, family or co-workers. Play 9 holes for $22 or play 18 for just $32. Memberships and Flex Fee Packages are also offered.
