Regional Tourism Funding to Support Business Recovery

Regional Tourism Funding to Support Business Recovery

The Hamilton-Halton-Brant Regional Tourism Association (HHBRTA) has recently initiated a time limited Covid-19 Regional Tourism Recovery Program supporting the industry’s efforts to bounce back from the pandemic. They are offering four unique opportunities that reflect the diverse business offerings represented in the region.

Launching on Monday, November 16th and running until Monday, November 30th at 11:59pm, interested parties may apply in any or all of the four different programs, but may only receive funding for a maximum of two programs. As each program offers a limited budget, applications will be reviewed first come, first served and successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday, December 16th.

1. Health and Safety Business Requirement Expense Program

This program offers a reimbursement of up to $500 (pre-tax) retroactive to April 1, 2020 for Hamilton-Halton-Brant tourism industry operators who have incurred or are incurring expenses for the re-opening of their operations, while putting measures in place to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 among their staff and patrons.

2. Consumer Confidence Video

Many businesses have successfully re-opened only to find that consumers are still nervous about the safety of visiting public places. If your operation is in need of additional funds to create a video to share with your customers that will help to instill confidence, this fund could help you. It’s an additional opportunity to advertise your unique offerings and positive guest experiences through the HHBRTA’s seasonal marketing campaigns.

4. Destination Visual Content Program – Phase 2

Through this program we are able to fill our digital content gap and support industry by providing new digital assets that can be used now and in the future. Phase 1 of this project involved capturing a wide range of experiences in HHBRTA’s partner locations and the resulting digital assets of Phase 1 will be available in late November. Phase 2 aims to fill in gaps and deficits within the HHBRTA database and support the tourism industry by providing new digital assets that can be used now and in the future.
