The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to announce the upcoming virtual screening and Q&A with the cast and crew from The Cuban, a motion picture that was filmed in Brantford and the County of Brant in 2018. The virtual event will take place on November 27, 2020 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The film can be viewed free of charge from November 27, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. to November 28, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
While you are watching the film, try to spot three recognizable locations in Brantford and the County of Brant. Head on over to @TourismBrantford on Facebook for your chance to win free autographed swag from the cast and crew of The Cuban. Included in the giveaways are: an autographed official The Cuban t-shirt, face mask, 2 autographed posters, and an autographed shooting script. Tourism Brantford is also giving away a prize pack, which includes a pair of Brantford sweatpants, hat, woodgrain water bottle, and cooler/thermal lunch bag. The contest will open at 7:30 p.m. (at the start of the feature film) and will remain open the duration of the weekend until November 29, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

The Cuban tells a story of an unexpected friendship that forms between a naïve pre-med student and an aging Cuban musician and how he ignites her passion for music and life. Directed by Sergio Navarretta and written by Alessandra Piccione, The Cuban stars Ana Golja, Oscar and Emmy award winner Louis Gossett Jr. and Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Shohreh Aghdashloo. The film was produced by Piccione and Navarretta of S.N.A.P. Films Inc., alongside Golja and Taras Koltun.
Winners will be randomly selected using an online generator and announced on Monday, November 30, 2020 at noon. The contest is open to all residents of Brantford and the County of Brant and the winners must be able to pick up the prize at the Brantford Visitor & Tourism Centre.
