Winding Way Records Signs Brantford’s Chris Strei

Winding Way Records recently announced that Chris Strei of Brantford has joined the label in a sync-rep agreement. Chris Strei is a singer/songwriter whose style has been compared to Chris Stapleton, Tom Petty, Doc Walker, and Tragically Hip. Chris draws on his life experiences for inspiration in his music. With composition influenced by blues, bluegrass, hard rock, and metal, Chris’s songs tell stories with a sense of universal perspective.

In July 2019, Chris released his full-length album, "The Moonshine" (produced by Iain McNally, mixed by Paul Intson and Iain McNally) to a sold out venue at Riffs Music Lounge in Woodstock, Ontario. The Moonshine is a collection of 10 dynamic songs that touch on various topics and styles, from the sweet commitment of "Love You Anyhow," to the date-night glow of a dashboard light on the album's title track "Moonshine", the bittersweet goodbye of "Timbercreek", and the gritty, fan-favourite "Prison Bound Man".

Strei has opened for the Juno nominated band The Trews, as well as folk and pop singer Dayna Manning. In addition to a cross Canada tour, Strei performed at Canadian music week, Hugh’s Room Live, and most recently made his radio debut on Niagara’s Country89. Great Lakes Country 103 on Manitoulin Island (listen through their website and the TuneIn Radio App!) is also going to be adding the song to their rotation. Chris has signed a Sync-Rep Contract with Winding Way for his song Prison Bound Man.

Congratulations, Chris!
