COVID-19 has innovatively brought out the creativity of those in the world of creators. You have no doubt seen many livestream and “living room” concerts from artists around the globe. Now is your chance to be a part of a great initiative to help close-to-home artists and support the music they create.
MusicTogether supports working Ontario musicians during the COVID-19 crisis with direct funding, new opportunities for fan discovery, and eCommerce tools. $300,000 has been committed thanks to the generosity of the music community funders and matching funds from OntarioLive.
With music acts ranging from hip-hop, jazz, reggae, pop, rock and many more, be sure to check out the concert schedule and tune in to support the talented and exciting musicians.
If you are a local Brantford musician and interested in applying to this program, here is what you need to know:
The goal of this project is to help artists get paid for what they do best during this difficult time for the arts. Eligible musicians wanting to apply to be part of this initiative can submit applications and will be evaluated on a first-come, first-serve basis. A curation team of people from the music industry will review applications.
Applicants who get the chance to perform will be able to:
1. Apply for $1,000 in emergency relief funding
2. Play a livestream show to engage their fans and earn new ones
3. Sell their merch to promote their business
If your application is accepted, you'll agree to perform a livestream and MusicTogether will work with you to schedule an hour set into our lineup.
You will perform the livestream through your own Instagram/Facebook channel, and we'll send viewers to you through MusicTogether, our community partners, and your own social channels.
