Get Outside and View ‘The Grand Exhibit’

Brantford’s Grand Exhibit is a partnership between the City of Brantford and Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, which features 12 to-scale reproductions from Glenhyrst’s permanent collection displayed throughout the City.

Brantford’s Grand Exhibit showcases a small piece of over 600 original works of art from Glenhyrst’s permanent collection. The twelve pieces selected for the Grand Exhibit were voted on by nearly 300 members of the community over the summer of 2019. The exhibit features works by: William Henry Clapp, Hortense Gordon, John Sloan Gordon, Jason McLean, Michael James Alec Snow, Doris Titus, George Thomson, Aidan Urquhart, Homer Watson, Jean Claude Whale, John Hicks Whale, and Robert Reginald Whale.

These beautiful works were installed on a crisp November day, and now that the nice spring weather has arrived it is the perfect time to get outside and visit these stunning pieces in person. Of the 12 pieces, 9 are located in Brantford’s downtown core and can be easily walked.

For more information about Brantford’s Grand Exhibit, including a map of locations, please visit the project website.

This project has been generously supported by the Downtown Brantford BIA and Brooks Signs.

#BrantfordTogether

To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, the City of Brantford has closed all City facilities and prohibited use of all outdoor amenities including playground structures, benches, picnic tables, public exercise equipment, etc. While people who are not providing frontline essential services are urged to stay home, we recognize that people will occasionally need outdoor exercise breaks. The City’s parks and trails remain open for walking, jogging and biking (on applicable trails), however, strict physical distancing guidelines (remaining 6 ft apart from others) MUST be practiced at all times in public.
