The best of the best in Ontario tourism were celebrated at the annual Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Blue Mountain Village Conference Centre. These awards recognize tourism industry successes by honouring individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to Ontario’s tourism industry.
Maria Fortunato, Executive Director, was in attendance and thrilled to accept on behalf of Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Association and industry partners the Tourism Marketing Partnership Award - Grand River Paddling Marketing Campaign. The Partners for this campaign included: Grand River Rafting, Grand Experiences, Tourism Brantford, the County of Brant Tourism, Six Nations of the Grand River Tourism, Destination Ontario and HHBRTA.
The Grand River Paddling Partnership was an initiative with a unique mix of active partners, which included both tourism organizations and operators, and partners at all levels – provincial, regional and local. The campaign not only successfully built awareness of the Grand River as a destination for exceptional paddling experience by achieving over 2.5 million impressions, but also positioned Grand River paddling as suitable for both new and experienced paddlers alike. Almost 25,000 consumers clicked through to online campaign content and there were 47,284-page views of campaign content. The Grand River Paddling Marketing Campaign was also a FINALIST in the Tourism Marketing Campaign Award – under 50k.
This partnership initiative is an excellent result of industry operators collaborating on a tourism development priority with the goal to grow regional visitation and increase tourism receipts. Let us celebrate and keep the momentum growing together.
